(Greenville, SC: May 22, 2007) Postcard from Paris has been selected as the interior design firm for the 2008 Southern Living Showhome, which will be located on the grounds of Furman University. Known as the Cliffs Cottage at Furman, the showcase home will be environmentally sustainable, highlighting the ability to design and build homes in an environmentally friendly manner while preserving comfort, style, and quality. The home at Furman will be Southern Living’s first LEED-certified “green” home.
“Our firm is honored to be a part of this extraordinary initiative led by Furman University,” notes Linda McDougald of Postcard from Paris. “Southern Living is among the most well-respected home and garden magazines in the nation, and being selected as the design firm for one of their renowned showhomes and one that is located on the impeccable campus of Furman is a wonderful opportunity not only for our firm but for all others involved.”
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the “nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.”
Johnston Design Group, a local architectural firm with a deep commitment to environmentally sustainable design, is the architect of the home.
The home is expected to be open in the spring of 2008.
